Q: Can you help me file my insurance?
A: We bill all in network insurance companies directly. For out of network insurance companies, the client must pay up front for services and we can provide the client a superbill for our services that they can then submit to their insurance company for reimbursement. We always recommend that these clients contact their insurance companies directly to determine what services they will pay for prior to their first appointment.
Psychotherapy FAQ’s
Q: What is Psychotherapy?
A: Psychotherapy gives individuals, families, and children a safe place to explore and process emotions. Therapy can help when someone is experiencing interpersonal problems, communication conflicts, or maybe just feeling “down”. Therapy can focus on specific areas of concern or be broadened to fit the needs of the individual, couple or family.
Many therapists use different styles of therapy in order to fit the need of the client(s). Each therapist is equipped with a background of various experiences that allow them to address individuals, couples or family’s concern. It is important to find a therapist that you feel comfortable with.
Q: What does therapy sessions look like?
A: Since every person is different, sessions can be various depending on the topics and situations that are being focused on. In general, a person can expect to discuss current stressors, life situations, history relevant to your concerns, and progress you have made. Your therapist will discuss their recommendations as to what they believe will most benefit you, in which you both will agree on a treatment plan for therapy.
Q: How can therapy help me?
A: Therapy can help individuals and families to gain a better understanding of themselves or each other, manage anger or other intense emotions, learn new ways of coping, alter behavior patterns, learn and practice skills to improve relationships, develop/increase self-esteem and empowerment, and heal from traumatic experiences.
Q: How long do therapy sessions last?
A: Each session is typically 45 minutes – 53 minutes. There can be exceptions based on client need and type of therapy being administered.
Q: How regularly are sessions scheduled?
A: Sessions are usually scheduled once a week or once every other week in order to maintain therapeutic relationship and progress. A client can be moved to “maintenance therapy” (once a month) once they have accomplished most of their therapeutic goals and both the client(s) and their therapist are in agreement.
