EMDR Intensives
EMDR Intensives
An EMDR Intensive Therapy Session is a powerful and time-efficient approach to healing trauma, offering clients the opportunity to experience deep emotional processing and meaningful breakthroughs in a significantly shorter period than traditional therapy formats. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a well-established, evidence-based therapy that helps individuals heal from distressing life experiences, trauma, and negative core beliefs. While standard EMDR therapy is typically delivered in weekly 50–60 minute sessions, an EMDR intensive takes a different, more immersive path.
In an EMDR intensive, therapy is delivered in longer, uninterrupted blocks of time—usually ranging from 3 to 8 hours per day, often over the course of one or more consecutive days. This extended-format model is designed to eliminate the start-and-stop nature of traditional weekly sessions, allowing clients to remain in the processing state longer and work through multiple memories, patterns, or belief systems in a single sitting. The result is a faster, deeper therapeutic experience that can help clients reach transformative change in a fraction of the time.
Because the brain is given more time and space to stay in adaptive processing mode, EMDR intensives often lead to more profound emotional shifts, faster resolution of trauma symptoms, and the uncovering of key insights that might otherwise take months to emerge. Clients often describe the experience as a journey of emotional release, clarity, and empowerment, with lasting changes to their nervous system, thought patterns, and sense of self.
This approach is ideal for individuals who:
Are feeling stuck in traditional therapy or ready for a breakthrough
Prefer a condensed, goal-oriented model of care
Have busy schedules or live at a distance and want to travel in for focused healing
Are seeking relief from single-incident trauma (such as a car accident, medical trauma, or assault) or longstanding patterns related to complex trauma
By providing both the time and emotional container necessary for deep work, EMDR intensives offer a uniquely effective opportunity to move beyond the past and into lasting emotional freedom.
